It always strikes me how some designers try to create great customer experiences for product end-users but fail to deliver good experience for their own customer — the client they work for.

You hear talk about delighting users, building empathy, but client who signs your check might just not get treated well in the process.

I’ve seen clients that were not listened to, not updated on the progress, some that didn’t have their concerns addressed, having to repeat the same thing again and again, not having a way to provide timely feedback or learn about project risks really on, expected to know too much, put all the blame on…
